Radiation Protection

Radiation protection

The X-ray tube of the maX sensor is powered by an acceleration voltage of 65 kV. For this reason, in most countries you need a permission to run this measurement system.

Usually the system is mounted to a production line, where people do not have access to the radiation exit window. There is no danger to be irradiated by chance.

The sensor does not contain any radioisotope or any activated material that could cause residual radiation. So, once switched off, the sensor produces no radiation any more and radiation protection expires unless it is switched on again.
